Entire Derry backroom staff resign

The Derry football manager Paddy Crozier and his entire backroom team have resigned en-bloc from their positions just three and a half weeks ahead of the Ulster championship opener against Tyrone in Omagh.

The move comes after the county board refused to defer county league fixtures scheduled for this evening and so leaving Crozier with a depleted squad for tomorrow's challenge game with Dublin in Lusk.

Talks are underway this afternoon in a bid to resolve the impasse.
