Connacht reward consistent Mostyn

Former Ireland winger Matt Mostyn, who has started all of Connacht's 21 games this season, has been rewarded with a new two-year contract.

The 31-year-old, Connacht's vice-captain this year, has been one of the mainstays of Michael Bradley's squad since he rejoined the province three seasons ago.

Mostyn's contract extension is a further boost for Connacht, after skipper Andrew Farley last week signed a new two-year deal.

Mostyn, who won the last of his six caps in the 1999 World Cup loss to Argentina, played 27 games in his first season back with Connacht, and last year started 30 competitive matches.

He is continuing that run this season and aside from coming off in the closing stages in the controversial defeat to the Ospreys in October, he has played every minute of Connacht's campaign this season.

"I am really enjoying my rugby. All our focus now is on the European Challenge Cup quarter-final clash with Newcastle Falcons later this month," said the Sydney-born player.
