Ireland dig out a tremendous win. It wasn't pretty, but Eddie O'Sullivan's men controlled the game for long periods and deservedly claimed the all-important two points.

Ireland now have a chance to claim the Triple Crown and possibly the Six Nations title itself in next Saturday's mouthwatering clash with England at Twickenham.

Ireland hold a 12-9 lead over Scotland at Lansdowne Road. It has been a battle of the penalty kickers, with Ireland's Ronan O'Gara converting four out of five. Scotland's Chris Paterson has been successful with his three. It is still all to play for.

11 min Scotland Penalty. Scotland's ever-dependable Chris Paterson opens their account. Ireland 6 Scotland 3

10 min From Dan Parks' restart, Ireland immediately give away a penalty.

9 min Ireland Penalty. O'Gara finds the range from the 22. Ireland 6 Scotland 0

8 min Scotland are penalised for coming in from the side and O'Gara is offered the chance to extend Ireland's lead.

7 min A grubber kick from O'Gara is collected and well cleared by Hugo Southwell.

5 min Heavy rain and wind have made conditions difficult. However, it hardly accounts for the extremely poor standard of kicking from both sides.
