Police set to question Bellamy

Blackburn striker Craig Bellamy is wanted by police for questioning in connection with an alleged assault on a teenage girl in a nightclub.

The incident is alleged to have occurred in the Number 10 nightclub on Mill Lane, Cardiff, on Saturday, February 5.

The 26-year-old Wales star and another man have subsequently been asked to attend a Cardiff police station for questioning.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "We are investigating the alleged assault of a 19-year-old woman at the Number 10 nightclub in Mill Lane on February 5, 2006."

He added: "Two men have been asked to attend Cardiff Central Police Station to be formally interviewed on a date yet to be decided."
