Burscough dream of possible Anfield visit

Burscough chairman Chris Lloyd is hoping that his side's possible FA Cup third round clash with Manchester United could be played at Anfield, the home of his beloved Liverpool.

The UniBond League Premier Division side face Burton of the Nationwide Conference in a rearranged second-round tie tomorrow, with the winners securing a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

If Burscough progress, Lloyd's first choice would be to stage the match at their own Victoria Park ground but realises the ground may be deemed unsuitable for such a match, and a trip to Anfield would be right up his street.

He said: "We would love to play it here at Victoria Park and we will do everything we can do to make that happen because that is what the FA Cup is about. But unfortunately it will not be our decision - we will be in the hands of the relevant authorities."
