Gascoigne parts company with Kettering

Paul Gascoigne's short reign in charge of non-league team Kettering Town is over after the club's new owner Imraan Ladak confirmed his departure.

The former England, Tottenham and Lazio midfielder took charge at the Nationwide Conference North club at the end of October, but Ladak today confirmed he has left the Rockingham Road side.

Ladak gave no reason for the exit but told the club's official website www.ketteringtownfc.co.uk:  "Following discussions this weekend, it has been decided that Paul Gascoigne is unable to carry out his duties as manager of Kettering Town Football Club.

"With Paul's status within the football world, it is impossible to expect anything but intense media speculation surrounding his departure.

"However the priority for Kettering Town is the stability of the team and so my immediate priority is to appoint a new manager, rather than discuss the reasons for Paul's departure."

Gascoigne won two, drew two and lost two of six Conference matches since taking charge of the Northamptonshire club, who are seventh in the table.
