Two arrested over Thomond Park vandalism

Gardai in Limerick have arrested two youths as part of the investigation into criminal damage at Thomond Park rugby grounds last month.

The teenagers were arrested in the Moyross area of the city early this morning.

The youths are being held at Mayorstone Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The grounds of Thomond Park were badly damaged on September 14, when several hundred holes were dug up in an act of vandalism.

The damage caused to the pitch was extensive and forced officials to cancel all games planned there for four weeks.
