New Lansdowne design to be unveiled

The IRFU and the FAI have said that the design of the proposed new stadium for Lansdowne Road will be unveiled next month.

Following a meeting of the Government's steering group for the project, the Lansdowne Road Stadium Development Company also said they were on course to lodge a planning application by the end of the year.

The company's project director, Willie Ryan, is stepping down for personal reasons, and is being replaced by Michael Greene, who was Project Manager for the completion of the LUAS.

Philip Browne, chairman of LRSDC, said the architects are putting the final touches to the design while a detailed costing is being finalised by the project managers, and the proposed design should be ready within the next month.
