Potter extends Anfield stay
Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:23Liverpool and Republic of Ireland youngster Darren Potter has signed a new three-year deal at Anfield.
The 20-year-old Ireland U-21 midfielder broke into the Reds' first team last season and after strengthening his position within the senior squad, Potter has been handed an improved deal.
He told the club's website: "I'm really pleased. I had two years left on my contract but the -club have given me an extra year. It's fantastic news for me. The manager (Rafael Benitez) has been great with me this season. I've been involved regularly in the squad and played a good amount of games."
