Tacchinardi heading to Spain

Villarreal have strengthen their squad ahead of their Champions League third round qualifier with Everton by signing Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi on loan for the season.

The 30-year-old Italian international found himself fighting for his first team place in Italy following the arrival of French midfielder Patrick Viera.

Tacchinardi signed for Juventus in 1994 after a spell with Atalanta Bergamo.

His glittering career with the "Old Lady" has seen him win the Champions League in 1996 and six Serie A titles.
