Fallon aboard Derby favourite

Kieren Fallon will ride hot favourite Hurricane Run in the Budweiser Irish Derby at the Curragh on Sunday.

The Andre Fabre-trained colt has been purchased by Coolmore following his narrow defeat in the French equivalent earlier this month.

Spokesman Richard Henry told the Racing Post: "Hurricane Run has been sold to Michael Tabor and Coolmore Stud. He has been leased back to Dietrich von Botticher and runs for him in the
Irish Derby on Sunday in the colours of Gestut Ammerland."

"The colt will be ridden by Kieren Fallon at the Curragh and he will remain in training with Andre Fabre. He looks to be a really, really good horse and we are always on the lookout for top prospects."

The son of Montjeu lost his unbeaten record when he went down by a neck to Shamardal at Chantilly, finishing fast and late after drifting left and right up the straight.
