Channon filly handed Oaks ticket

After pleasing her trainer Mick Channon in the Boylesports 1000 Guineas at the Curragh on Sunday, Joint Aspiration will take her chance in the Vodafone Oaks at Epsom on June 3.

The filly put behind her a disappointing run in the English version
to finish a close seventh behind Saoire in the Irish equivalent.

Joint Aspiration had broken a blood vessel when only 13th to Virginia Waters at Newmarket.

"She'll definitely go for the Oaks and you'd have to be hopeful she'd stay as her dam got a mile and a half," said the trainer.

"What was pleasing about Sunday is that she put Newmarket behind her and effectively did another 100 yards. It could have been very interesting.

"The problem was that we were nudged wide when the pace quickened and had too much to do but I was delighted with her."
