Azamour setback ahead of Tattersalls

John Oxx faces some anxious moments this week as he bids to get Azamour fot for the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh after the colt suffered a slight setback on Monday morning.

Azamour has a bruised foot but the trainer is still hopeful of the
Irish Champion Stakes winner making his seasonal debut in the Group One contest over a mile and a quarter at the Curragh on Sunday.

"He bruised a foot this morning. He was on course for the race until this little setback but hopefully we can still get him there,"  said Oxx.

"He cantered this morning and pulled up a little sore. It's nothing serious. He will miss work tomorrow which is unwelcome as he needs every bit of work. He's in great shape but I think he would need the run a little bit."
