Channon has Curragh aspirations

Mick Channon's Joint Aspiration, who broke a blood vessel in the Newmarket 1000 Guineas and subsequently finished 13th, looks set to be aimed a the Irish equivalent on Sunday week.

The daughter of Pivotal has been on the easy list ever since that race and connections are now eyeing the Boylesports-sponsored version.

"When we tested her with tracheal washes and took blood tests from her there was no sign of a virus and I can't believe she's a bleeder as it's never happened before," said Channon.

"There was absolutely no sign of anything before Newmarket and hopefully we can go to Ireland with a chance."
