Newton Abbot track gets all-clear

The track at Newton Abbot has got the all-clear for this evening's meeting after a planned 10am inspection was brought forward.  Following a dry night, estate manager Jason Loosemore said: "We had a look at 8am and have changed the ground to Good, Good to Soft in places and Soft on the bends.

"We're due some rain from midday onwards but it's a fine, dry morning at the moment. The forecast is for a maximum of five millimetres of rain and we could take that."

UK Champion trainer Martin Pipe has 14 runners at the meeting while his title-chasing rival Paul Nicholls has just three.
