Newcastle to inspect

Newcastle will hold a 7am inspection tomorrow ahead of Tuesday's meeting. The going at the track is currently described as heavy and they have more rain forecast for tonight.

Clerk of the course James Armstrong said: "We will have a look at 7am. Conditions have been improving as we have been dry since yesterday and we are just raceable today. We have had about 57 millimetres of rain in 36 hours and our forecast is not great with a band of rain forecast to move in tonight.

"We will have to see how much rain we get but we are forecast anything between 15 and 20 millimetres."
