Robben could face a month on the sidelines

Arjen Robben's latest injury could keep him out for at least four weeks, the player's father has revealed.

The Dutchman yesterday ruled himself out of action for two weeks because of an ankle injury sustained on international duty on Saturday.

But Robben's father Hans believes the 21-year-old could be out of action for a longer spell.

He told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: "At the moment his ankle is very painful. It will take four weeks to heal - minimum."

Robben limped off after 21 minutes of Holland's World Cup qualifier away to Romania on Saturday evening and a scan revealed an ankle tendon strain.

The player had only just returned to action after more than six weeks on the sidelines with two broken bones in his left foot.

The Dutch star did not make his debut for the London club following his summer move from PSV until October because of another foot injury sustained during pre-season training.
