Cottee in Upton Park takeover talks

West Ham legend Tony Cottee has confirmed he has spoken to a couple of potential investors over the possibility of taking over the Coca-Cola Championship club.

Cottee scored 147 goals in 437 games in two spells for the Hammers and is leading a consortium to oust chairman Terence Brown from Upton Park.

The former England international told Sky Sports: "I have spoken to a couple of potential investors. But that is as far as it has gone.

"I will not do anything to affect West Ham's promotion push. I want to see the club back into the Premiership - everyone knows how much I love the club. I have to play it very carefully."

Friday's 2-2 home draw with Leicester left the Hammers two points adrift of a play-off place while manager Alan Pardew has come under increasing pressure this season.
