More arrests likely in fixing probe
Friday, 11 March 2005 12:44All 27 people arrested in connection with the City Of London Police investigation into allegations of race-fixing have had their bail extended until October.
Sixteen people, including Kieren Fallon, fellow jockeys Fergal Lynch and Darren Williams, and trainer Karl Burke, were arrested and bailed last September.
A further six people were picked up in October, and in December trainer Alan Berry, jockey Paul Bradley and farrier Steve O'Sullivan were added to the list.
A spokesperson for the police said: "This is a complex investigation and there are likely to be further arrests.
"To accommodate that and to go through the 2,500 listed exhibits we have at this moment in time, which includes a large number of mobile phones and computers, and with still a significant number of races to look at, the decision was taken to extend the bail until then."
