Ricksen snubs Feyenoord approach
Thursday, 10 February 2005 10:54Fernando Ricksen looks increasingly likely to stay at Rangers after turning down a move to Feyenoord.
The Dutch international is out of contract in the summer and the Ibrox side are keen to see him sign a new deal.
However, Ricksen has already attracted interest from the Premiership after Rangers revealed Everton were keen to take him to Goodison Park.
Feyenoord attempted to join the race for his signature but were turned down flat by the player's agent who told them he has had better offers from Britain.
It now remains to be seen whether Ricksen sees his future with Rangers or south of the border.
Feyenoord technical director Mark Wotte told the Scottish Daily Mail: "We spoke with his agent, Henk van Ginkel, and he said that Fernando was not interested in what Feyenoord had to offer.
"He told us that Fernando had other options - three or four options - which would be more interesting for him and better in financial terms.
"We spoke shortly before the transfer window closed and the agent claimed there was interest from the English Premiership, as well as the new offer from Rangers."
