Jordan tests are a success

Jordan took the wraps off their 2005 car today at Silverstone, with new sporting director Trevor Carlin declaring the test a success.

The Silverstone-based team have battled to develop a car for the new season amid financial troubles before Midland took over the team from Eddie Jordan last month.

With their future now secure, Jordan are looking forward to a new era and Carlin was happy with the progress of his team's latest car.

He said: "It was a foggy start to the day here in Northamptonshire so we had to wait all morning before we could get started. However once the weather cleared slightly, the afternoon went well and Tiago Monteiro was able to complete almost 100 kilometres, making good progress with checking the various systems on the car."

Monteiro took to the track for his first test since being named as a Formula One race driver and he was excited by the experience.

The Portuguese driver said: "Today was really cool and from my point of view it went great. We started late because of fog in the morning so we didn't achieve everything we wanted to. But we did 35 laps in the afternoon and had no major issues at all.
