Barrow makes a point at Naas

Point Barrow could be Cheltenham-bound after landing the Woodlands Park 100 Club Novice Chase at Naas today.

The 7-4 favourite, trained by Pat Hughes, took the Grade Two race over three miles by two and a half lengths from Lincam.

"The horse did it well. I was tempted to run him at Gowran last week but he needs further than that two and a half (miles)," the County Carlow-based handler said.

"I've done the cheeky thing and entered him in the Royal & SunAlliance Chase but I don't think that's for him. If there is a race for him at the Festival then I think it's the four-mile National Hunt Chase."
