Redknapp agrees six-month deal at Southampton

Jamie Redknapp has signed a six-month contract at Southampton after leaving Tottenham on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old former England midfielder has spent three years at Spurs since moving from Liverpool, making 53 first-team appearances and taking over as club captain from Teddy Sheringham in 2003.

As the deal was completed before noon the 31-year-old will be available for selection for tomorrow night's home match against Fulham.

Saints boss Redknapp has already taken central defender Calum Davenport on loan from Tottenham.
