GOAL calls for Sport Aid Weekend

The charity organisation GOAL is urging sports organisations in Ireland to take up a collection to help the millions affected by the tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean.

GOAL CEO John O'Shea has asked for a collection to be taken up at all sporting events by both participants and spectators next weekend.

The effort will be called GOAL Sport Aid Weekend and has received the support of GAA president Seán Kelly and IRFU chief executive Philip Browne.

Any proceeds raised can be sent to GOAL, PO Box 19, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin. The telephone number is 01 2809779.
