Warrsan to come back for Coronation

Warrsan is to stay in training next year with a third Coronation Cup at Epsom on June 3 likely to be his first target.

Clive Brittain's seven-year-old landed the 12-furlong event this term before going on to claim further Group One glory in the Grosser Preis Von Baden in Germany later in the year.

However, the son of Caerleon disappointed in the Japan Cup and he could finish no better than ninth behind Phoenix Reach in the Hong Kong Vase last Sunday.

Warrsan will now be rested until the spring but Brittain is hoping he can bounce back next year.

He told the Racing Post: "Warrsan is very likely to stay in training next year. He has come back sound and well after his run in the Hong Kong Vase and probably just didn't have any fire left at the weekend.

"He will now have a nice long winter break and we would have a similar campaign in mind for him next year beginning with the Coronation Cup."
