Lille move up French table

Shelbourne's UEFA Cup opponents Lille moved up to 8th place in the French Ligue 1 following a 2-1 win over Caen last night. Milenko Acimovic (23 minutes) and Philippe Brunel (87) got the all-important goals for Lille.

They are now on 10 points, just three behind leaders Monaco. The principality recovered from their Champions League defeat to Liverpool by beating Paris St German 1-0.

Lille host Shelbourne next Thursday week, September 30th, in the second leg of their UEFA Cup tie. The first leg finished 2-2 at Lansdowne Road last Thursday.
