Shelbourne confirm UEFA Cup Kick off time

Eircom League Champions Shelbourne have announced that their UEFA Cup 1st Round, 1st leg tie with Lille OSC of France will kick off at 7.00pm next Thursday, September 16th.

The tie had originally been due to kick off at 5.30pm to accomadate French television. However, the earlier start would have attracted a smaller that usual crowd. The French TV deal then fell through and Shels were facing a financial disaster.

Shelbourne Chairman Finbarr Flood said: "Lille have agreed to allow the game to go ahead at 7.00pm which we are pleased with. We now urge the Dublin public to come out and support Shelbourne in large numbers as they did against Deportivo la Coruna and recreate the very special atmosphere of that great night."

The match is live on RTÉ Network Two television.
