Roddy's Dublin crazy gang takes shape
Tuesday, 31 August 2004 17:56Roddy Collins has acquired the services of former Wimbledon 'Crazy Gang' member Efan Ekoku who will go into the squad for Thursday's clash with Bohemians at Tolka Park.
Collins flew to London yesterday and clinched the deal and the necessary paperwork was put in place before the close of the transfer window.
Manchester born Ekoku, 37, started his non-league career with Sutton United and Collins believes that the striker can have a significant impact on the remainder of the Vikings season.
Also coming into the Vikings roster for the remainder of the season is Alex Nescovic, whom Collins had when he was manager of Bohemians.
Collins said: "Alex's reputation precedes him but again we've brought in another goalscorer of proven ability and having worked with him in the past I know I can get the best out of him. He joined us with about 20 games to go during our double season and he had a big influence on the club when he came in. It's another striker I've got and he chose Dublin City ahead of a tabled offer from a Scottish club, so I'm pleased that he's opted for us."
Nescovic previously was on the books of Finn Harps and Derry City.
