Juninho snubs Celtic offer

Middlesbrough star Juninho has snubbed the chance to move to Celtic, according to his agent Jonathan Hassel.

The Brazilian was considering a move to Parkhead ahead of the Champions League deadline. However, despite falling down the pecking order at the Riverside Stadium, he has vowed to stay and fight for his place.

Hassel said: "Juninho was very impressed with what Martin O'Neill had to say and was very flattered that a club the size of Celtic had come in for him.

"But at this moment in time he wants to fight for a first team jersey at 'Boro."

The agent didn't close the door on a future move altogether though, and said if Celtic ever rekindled their interest he would talk to them.
