Fisichella to join Renault

Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella will join Renault to partner Spaniard Fernando Alonso next season, the Formula One team said this morning. Fisichella, who currently drives for Sauber, drove for the Renault team when it was named Benetton and left in 2001. He won his first race last year driving for Jordan in Brazil.

Italian Jarno Trulli said last weekend that he would leave Renault at the end of this season.
