Dynasties out to improve on French run
Thursday, 17 June 2004 13:06Aidan O'Brien is expecting a big run from Five Dynasties in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday.
The colt finished eight behind Blue Canari in the French Derby - a run that did not disappoint O'Brien: "He's in good form. He ran well in France. He's improving - he's coming. He's starting to get it together," the Ballydoyle handler added.
John Oxx's Barati is a second Irish challenger in the field.
A low-grade upper respiratory infection has ruled out Epsom Derby second Rule Of Law, while Peter Chapple-Hyam's African Dream will only run if there is rain.
Elshadi beat one home in the premier Classic at Epsom but trainer Marcus Tregoning believes that the son of Cape Cross can put that run behind him.
It was Elshadi's first run of the campaign and he had beaten Derby third Let The Lion Roar at Newbury last September.
"Hopefully he'll run a much better race than last time," said Tregoning.
The John Gosden-trained Haadef and Mark Johnston's Gold History complete the line-up.
