Scolari keeps cards close to chest

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is playing his cards close to his chest as he prepares for tomorrow night's must-win Group A clash with Russia in Lisbon.

Talk that he will drop midfielders Rui Costa and Sabrosa Simao and hand Deco and Manchester United starlet Cristiano Ronaldo places in the starting line-up was rife as he conducted his final press conference, but Scolari was giving nothing away.

There is a suggestion that Ronaldo could be handed a striking role alongside Pauleta in a bid to add extra firepower to the side which lost 2-1 to Greece in Porto on Saturday.

Probable Portugal team: Ricardo, Ferreira, Andrade, Couto, Jorge, Costinha, Maniche, Figo, Deco, Pauleta, Gomes, Costa, Ronaldo
