Italy avoiding over-exertion

Italy will only have a light training session ahead of their Euro 2004 clash against Denmark tomorrow in Guimaraes. In keeping with recent tradition, Giovanni Trapattoni's men will only hold a brief work-out today at the Dom Afonso Henriques stadium in Guimaraes.

Unlike many of their rivals, the Azzurri have not had to sweat it out having only done seven brief training sessions since their arrival to Portugal last Monday. Trapattoni's intention this week was to avoid any unwanted surprises prior to his team 's debut in the tournament and he has succeeded, with all his 23 players available for tomorrow's game.

Veteran goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi, who was struggling with a muscle injury earlier this week, was able to take part in yesterday's training and will be available for selection. The confident Azzurri, who travelled to the medieval town of Guimaraes today will, unlike their rivals, allow the press and the media to attend their last training session.

Italy (probable): Buffon, Nesta, Panucci, Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Perrotta, Zannetti, Camoranesi, Totti, del Piero, Vieri.
