Totti dismisses reports of unrest in Italian camp

Italian striker Francesco Totti has insisted that morale in the Italian camp in high ahead of Euro 2004, despite rumours of unrest and rivalry.

Reports in Italy had claimed that the camp was divided, but Totti insists that there is no jealousy or rivalry in the squad and that everyone has their role to play.

"No-one should feel inferior to anyone. Everyone has their role to play. Of course it is nice to hear the praise but we are all good players here in this squad. That is why we are here," the striker said.

"I will take on my responsibility that's for sure but all the others have to as well. That is the only way we can do well."

Totti has been upbeat about Italy's chances in Euro 2004 and said nothing had changed his view that Trapattoni's team could go all the way."I hope we can win. I certainly stick to what I said before," he added.
