Spurs in hunt for Davids

Speculation is mounting that Tottenham Hotspur have offered Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids a lucrative two-year deal. The Dutch international has enjoyed a successful loan spell with Barcelona, but failed to agree to an extension.

The London Evening Standard report that Spurs' new technical director, Frank Arnesen, has set his sights on Davids.

Earlier this week, the Spanish national newspaper El Mundo reported that a club from England, believed to be Manchester United, had made 'a huge offer'.

The deal is thought to be worth in the region of £6m.
