Queen Anne target for Russian Rhythm

Lockinge Stakes winner Russain Rhythm is likely to take his chance in what should be an intriguing Queen Anne Stakes on the opening day of Royal Ascot on June 15.

Connections are leaning towards the mile race where she could line up against Breeders' Cup Mile winner Six Perfections and recent Curragh winner Soviet Song.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old won three Group Ones last season including the 1000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes.

Russian Rhythm, who made a winning return to action at Newbury earlier this month, could also tackle the Prince of Wales's Stakes (June 16) at the Royal meeting. The filly is also entered in the Group Two Windsor Forest Stakes,
which is also on June 16, but connections have all but ruled her out of that race.

Chris Richardson, speaking on behalf of her owners, Cheveley Park Stud, reports the filly to be in top form after her Newbury win. He said: "It is still undecided which target she goes for, but though she is in the Windsor Forest Stakes, I doubt she will end up there. I think the mile (the Queen Anne Stakes) is probably favoured, all being well.

"We will make a decision nearer the time. I still have to talk to Sir Michael (Stoute) and her owners."
