D'Arcy wins players' player of the year award

Gordon D'Arcy has been named IRUPA Players' Player of the Year for 2004 at a ceremony in Dublin tonight. The Leinster centre took the award ahead of Munster's Paul O'Connell and Simon Easterby of Llanelli.                                       

D Arcy said: 'To be voted the best player for 2004 by the players around the country when there are so many talented players is a great honour. This is the ultimate rugby award and something I will treasure for the rest of my career.'
