Roddy Collins linked with Inchicore vacancy

Roddy Collins is among the names being mentioned as a possible successor to Eamon Collins who resigned as manager of St. Patrick's Athletic yesterday.

Newspaper reports this morning suggest that the club's chairman Andy O'Callaghan met with the ex-Bohemians and Carlisle boss last week and it is believed that this was a major factor behind the resignation.

Pat's have slipped to second from bottom in the League, having lost five of their opening nine league games. On Bank Holiday Monday they were beaten 3-1 at home by Dublin City in the League Cup.

Collins, who held the position for just over a year, said that he had taken the team as far as possible while working under a constrained budget.

Assistant manager Martin Russell and veteran star Paul Osam will temporarily taking charge of the team for their trip to Derry City tomorrow night.
