Flat season starting soon

With Cheltenham now just a memory, attention turns to the start of the turf Flat season with the traditional curtain-raiser at Doncaster. The three-day fixture on Town Moor gives trainers a chance to get a couple of early wins on the board before the season gets into full swing.

The Doncaster Mile is the feature on the opening day but the main event is the Freephone Stanleybet Lincoln on Saturday.  The mile event always attracts a really competitive field and this year looks like being no exception with last year's winner Pablo amongst those on course for the race.

Those who don't make the cut for the Lincoln can gain some compensation in the Freephone Stanleybet Spring Mile on Friday. The jumping action is pretty low-key, however, after the excitement of Cheltenham, with the EBF Crandon Park Stud Mares `National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle Race Final the highlight at Newbury.
