Tote announce changes to Jackpots

As on from the Hennessy meeting at Leopardstown on Sunday next, there will be significant changes regarding Tote Jackpot Stakes and Rollovers.

The Jackpot Unit Stake will be reduced from the current ¤1 to 50 cents from next Sunday (February 8) onwards.

The Tote Jackpot increased to ¤1 on January 1 2002 from 50p, with the introduction of the Euro and recent market research has  ndicated that customer preference was for a 50 cent Unit Stake. This would enable more combination of the Tote Jackpot particularly with large fields in Jackpot races.

Tote Ireland will be more aggressive with Jackpot Guarantees in 2004 and will market the Jackpot heavily on track and to call Call Client Clients.

The second major change to the Jackpot is that in the event of a Rollover the total Jackpot Pool will be carried forward to the next days Irish Race Meeting.

This new Tote Rollover Policy is a return to the oroginal policy operated by the Tote until 1987.

The Tote Jackpot  Guarantee for the Hennessy meeting will be ¤50,000, and the Tote will pay a bonus of an additional ¤50,000 if there is a single outright winner on the day.
