Larsson nets record in Celtic rout

Celtic took another step closer to the group stages of the Champions League tonight when they inflicted a 4-0 defeat on MTK Hungaria. Henrik Larsson opened the scoring after only 16 minutes and now holds the record for most European goals scored for a British club with 31, the record was held by held by Ian Rush and Peter Lorimer.

His was followed by goals from Didier Agathe, Stilian Petrov and Chris Sutton to hand the Hoops a massive boost ahead of the return leg at Parkhead.

Sutton's was the pick of the bunch as he produced an amazing diving header from a Larsson pass to nod the ball home in the 90th minute - leaving Celtic with the knowledge that progression to the group stages of the Champions League lies firmly in their own hands.
