Saints sign French prospect
Wednesday, 9 July 2003 12:17Southampton have signed French prospect Leandre Griffit from Amiens. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is a free agent but Saints have had to pay some compensation to the French Second Division side.
Griffit is Southampton's second summer signing following the arrival of full-back Darren Kenton from Norwich on a free.
Griffit told the club's official website, www.saintsfc.co.uk: "I know it is a physical game here - but it can be physical in France too although there is sometimes a bit more technique. I think I have good technique and pace. I am a creative player but I like to score goals too although I know it will be tough to establish myself."
