Lee Bowyer completes his move to Newcastle

Lee Bowyer today formally completed his move to Newcastle after passing a medical last night.

The 26-year-old put pen to paper at St James' Park this morning on a four-year, £30,000-a week contract to become Sir Bobby Robson's first close-season signing.

Lee Bowyer passed his medical at St James' Park last night and this morning, officially completed his transfer to Newcastle United, said a club spokesman.

Bowyer is expected to link up with the bulk of the United squad when they return for pre season training on Thursday, although those of his new team-mates who were involved in international games after the end of the Premiership season have been given two weeks extra to recharge their batteries.
