Henman survives difficult opening match
Tuesday, 24 June 2003 16:49Number 10 seed Tim Henman progressed to the second round at Wimbledon this afternoon, fending off 'lucky loser' qualifier Thomas Zib in four sets. The British number one eventually beat Czech Republic player Zib 6-2 7-6 3-6 6-1 but it was tougher than most experts predicted.
Henman revived himself after losing the third set, immediately breaking the Czech's serve - and while he also lost his own in the third game Henman went on demonstrated his superior class to run away with the set and the match.
