Dinos romps to Ascot Gold Cup victory

watch

The Paul Cole-trained Mr Dinos romped to victory in the Ascot Gold Cup under Kieren Fallon today, beating a field of top class stayers by six lengths. Persian Punch, ridden by Martin Dwyer, continued his excellent record in the race, staying on as well as ever to take second again on his seventh start in the valuable Group 1 contest.

Dwyer had made the pace early on with Persian Punch but, as the runners approached the mile mark, Fallon asked his charge for extra effort and left the rest of the field in his wake as Pole Star ran on from last to third.
