Godolphin plan strong Royal Ascot assault

Moon Ballad and Grandera are set to spearhead Godolphin's powerful challenge at Royal Ascot next week. On their website Godolphin outlined their provisional plans for the prestigious five-day meeting which includes aiming the Dubai World Cup first and fourth at Wednesday's Prince Of Wales's Stakes.

Dubai Destination, who recently made a successful comeback from injury at Nottingham, is being targeted at the Queen Anne Stakes on Tuesday, which is being run for the first time as a Group One contest this year. Also on the opening day the Dubai team have pencilled in Romantic Liason for the King's Stand Stakes.

Godolphin have won the Gold Cup three times in the past with Classic Cliche and Kayf Tara (twice) and they have a strong hand in this year's race with Mamool and Fight Your Corner reported on course for the stayers' crown. Also on Thursday Mezzo Soprano has an entry in the Ribblesdale Stakes.

On Friday Godolphin are hoping to run New South Wales in the Queen's Vase while on the final afternoon they have Vodafone Coronation Cup second Highest in the Hardwicke Stakes and Firebreak and Three Points in the Group One Golden Jubilee Stakes.
