Interesting beginners clash at Ballinrobe

The first of two consecutive evening meetings at Ballinrobe gets underway at 6.00pm, and this seven race card is boosted by a jackpot pool rollover of E1,755. The beginners chase holds the most interest as well as the most value, and Golden Row is taken to overcome the challenge of Goss.

Golden Row was a high class novice over hurdles, and reappeared after a long lay-off when runner-up to Catalpa Cargo on his chasing debut at Navan. There is a maximum field of 16 in the opening leg of the 'pot' - the 2m handicap - where recent hurdle winner Windfall may take advantage of a lowly rating.

The 2m maiden hurdle affords Flying Knight a good opportunity to score following his third to Rockstown Boy at Tralee last week. Local publican Michael Flannery may provide the answer to a wide open 2m4f handicap hurdle in which he saddles top-weight Belene Boy.
