Curragh Preview - Hannon to raid Gallinule with Nysaean
Saturday, 7 June 2003 17:19The Patrick P O'Leary Memorial Gallinule Stakes is the feature on a seven race card beginning at 2.30pm at The Curragh on Sunday. The Richard Hannon trained Nysaean is fancied to record his second Group 3 win here this term after already landing the Mooresbridge Stakes on the course in April.
The four-year-old would appreciate any further showers to ease the ground at Head Quarters. Handel runs here instead of joining the Ballydoyle team in the Vodafone Derby, while the gutsy Tipperary All Star and 2,000 Guineas sixth Napper Tandy are others to consider in a competitive 6 runner event.
John Oxx and John Murtagh can team up to record a double in the final two races on the afternoon with Rainbow World and Icklingham. Rainbow World has been given a rating of 88 after his Gowran Park maiden win, and can follow up in the ten-furlong handicap at the main expense of Anticipated Move. Icklingham has been narrowly beaten on his latest two outings, and appears to have found a good opportunity in the concluding ten-furlong maiden.
