Watering begins at Aintree racecourse

Aintree Racecourse announced this morning that watering is taking place in order to achieve the Racecourse's committed policy of producing ground no faster than good for the forthcoming Martell Cognac Grand National Meeting.

Aintree's Clerk of The Course, Andrew Tulloch, said today: "In view of this morning's detailed weather report we have decided to apply approximately 4mm of water to the Hurdle, Mildmay and Grand National courses. The going at present on all three courses is good."
