Jordan hails introduction of radical plans

Formula 1 chief Eddie Jordan has hailed the radical plans that have been introduced to ensure the future of Formula One and its teams. The FIA, the sport's governing body, unveiled the changes on Tuesday in reaction to the stark situations that faced Prost and Arrows in recent years.

Jordan, who lost his major sponsor after the end of last season, said: "The atmosphere was the best that I have ever known in a team principals meeting. There is supposedly doom and gloom but it was the most positive I can possibly ever remember in my lifetime in Formula One.

"Fans don't want to see drivers fiddling with gadgets or pressing buttons. They want to see racing and that's what we are getting back to," he added.
